With close to our best team competing in Division 3, it was a cold, wet and windy greeting for runners on Saturday morning. We had 6 teams on the start line with Male and Female juniors, Male 50+ and 3 Open teams. It was great to see everyone so excited for our last event for the season despite the terrible weather conditions.
The Div. 3 team had a dominant victory, finishing 2 minutes ahead of their nearest rival, and in doing so secured second place on the Div 3 ladder.
It was an outstanding finish to the Cross Country season and has resulted in promotion to Division 2 for next season.
This is our most successful cross country performance in 25 years, congratulations to the entire team and coach Cyril Dixon.
This season has seen steady improvement, a little more depth in numbers and the maturing of our young list. In addition, we have some outstanding juniors emerging. The Cross Country performance this winter is evidence of us now ranked in the top 20 clubs in Victoria, a fantastic performance.
