Victorian Relay Championships

28 Nov 2022

Congratulations to our four girls entered in the Under 16, 4x400m Relay. Despite two of the girls being just 13 years of age, the girls raced incredibly well, qualified for the final in a new Club Record and placed 8th in the final. The girls, Paige Bukovsan, Eliza Nelson, Marli Brenner and Kate Bukovsan showed great maturity and grit in their races against obviously much older teams… well done girls.

Due to the extensive flooding at the Moonee Valley Athletics Track (Aberfeldie), Moonee Valley Council have informed Athletics Victoria that the track will be closed until a full assessment can be carried out.
As a result, the Zone A competition will be relocated to Doncaster for AVSL Round 3.
AVSL is not due to return to the Moonee Valley Athletics Track until Round 7 (Saturday, 17th December) and Athletics Victoria will continue to work with Athletics Essendon and the Moonee Valley Council in order to get the track back up and running as soon as possible.

AVSL Premiership to Ivanhoe

6 Mar 2022

In a wonderful afternoon of athletics Ivanhoe absolutely smashed the opposition to win the AVSL Division 5 Premiership for season 2021/22.

Final points score:

Ivanhoe11,183
Williamstown5,075
Maccabi4,198

This was easily our best team performance of the season with many PBs set under pressure. With the course commentator announcing Ivanhoe's re-emergence with high standard performances, our Under 20 men absolutely blitzed the field in the 4x400m Relay winning by a huge margin.
In addition, Club Records were set by Paige Bukovsan and Marli Brenner with Kate Bukovsan also beating the previous Club Record in the Under 14 girls 800m.
