Our Under 18 4x400m Relay team in the Victorian Relay Championships, at Box Hill, recorded a 3:40.64 in the final, which was a fine result given we did not have a specialist 400m runner in the team.

Well done boys.
A huge thank you to all the Ivanhoe Harriers club supporters who came along to our Trivia Night on Friday. It was a great success, with over 100 in attendance and raised some valuable funds for the future of the Club. The night was enjoyed by all and was superbly run by John Edney and club president Jeff Franklin. We intend to make the trivia night an "annual event" so keep an eye out and don't miss the next one!
Congratulations to our marathon man, John David who recorded a 4:48:06. John is now a “Spartan” which is recognition of 10 or more finishes in the Melbourne Marathon.
In addition, one of our new members, Felix Esperson had a crack at his first half marathon recording a time of 1:37:42, well done Felix.

Ivanhoe Harriers have been selected to participate in Local Matters at Grill'd Fairfield this August!
What does this mean? It means that if you buy a burger at Grill'd Fairfield in August and put your Local Matters token in our jar; at the end of the month Ivanhoe Harriers will be rewarded with a $300 or $100 gift depending on whether or not our jar receives the most tokens.
Each month the Grill'd community donation program sees each Grill'd restaurant donate $500 back into the community. The donation is split between 3 local community groups $300 / $100 / $100.
We would love your support in receiving the highest $300 donation!
You can find our Local Matters jar at Grill'd Fairfield, 126 Station Street, Fairfield. Thanks for your continual support!
Despite the terrible weather today we held the 6k handicap run as planned.
We had eleven participants which was just great and our "handicapper" Barry did a fantastic job. First across the line was David Purser with an actual time of 24:58, second across the line was Mary Langdon and third was Michael George. We note the great comeback of former star, Richard Russell. Fastest time was Thomas Langdon, actual time 21:18, with David Greig recording 21:27 and Michael George 22:21.
A full report will follow in the next edition of Cursus.
