It is always a pleasure to be the bearer of good news. The win by our Division 5 cross country team on Saturday 22nd June at Anglesea was a great result for the Club. Our first cross country win for a long time.
The Team time for this Ekiden Relay event was 2 hours 6 minutes and 57 seconds, beating second placed Richmond Harriers by 1 minute 26 sec with Mentone, third, a further 29 seconds behind Richmond.
This win places us in third place on the Division 5 ladder, with only a few points separating Bendigo, Richmond and Ivanhoe. We are now a chance at taking out first or second in our competition. If successful, would promote Ivanhoe into the next Division and on our way back up the rankings.
Our Div. 7 competitors unfortunately did not have a full team however they competed very well on this tough course.
